Association Hike-the-Hill Program Set for September 17, Registration Open

The Massachusetts Credit Union League, the New Hampshire Credit Union League, and the Credit Union Association of Rhode Island are sponsoring their 2014 Hike-the-Hill program in Washington, DC, in conjunction with CUNA on Wednesday, September 17, at Credit Union House.  Credit union officials are encouraged to participate in this important event.

On September 18, NCUA will conduct its monthly Board meeting at their offices in Alexandria, VA.  While this portion of the program is optional, attendees are encouraged to attend.  Those staying in DC on the evening of September 17 are invited to dinner as guests of League President Paul Gentile.  Additional details will be forthcoming on these arrangements once credit union registrations are received.

"The Fall Hike is an important event to reinforce with lawmakers the vital role credit unions play in the marketplace and that credit unions need an effective operating environment to better serve consumers and small businesses," said League President Paul Gentile. "I hope we have a strong showing for this year's Hike and that the group can also take advantage of the opportunity to sit in on an NCUA Board meeting and see our regulator in action," said Gentile.

To assist in planning the program, credit union officials intending to participate are asked to respond as soon as practicable, but no later than August 4.  A timely reply will assist League staff in securing visits with members of the Congressional Delegation and dinner plans.
