Deposit Operations Manager, Rhode Island Credit Union, Providence, RI

Rhode Island Credit Union has been proudly serving its members for almost 70 years now.  With $250M in assets and almost 30,000 members, the credit union continues to grow and prosper and today has 5 branches and a shared branching network around the country.  The credit union offers a full range of products and services to its members who live and work in Rhode Island.

The credit union is starting a search for a Deposit Operations Manager who will function as a subject matter expert on all deposit products and operations.  Working closely with the EVP/COO, the Deposit Operations Manager will recommend and/or carry out process improvement projects that increase efficiency, improve member service and satisfaction, and mitigate risk on the deposit side.  Working with a team of electronic services, member services, and technology services managers, the Deposit Operations Manager will provide oversight and monitor compliance with policies and procedures and all regulatory guidelines for the operations function and ensure that information on regulatory matters is disseminated in a clear and timely manner and provides processes to ensure compliance.  The Deposit Operations Manager will also be responsible for the account monitoring and reporting requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act and will be a working resource to the entire operations function.  The preservation and destruction of credit union vital records is also a critical job function.

As an operations professional, requirements for the position include the following:

  • Broad experience and in-depth knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, ATMs, ACH and wire transfer processing and balancing, IRAs, CDs, demand deposit accounts.
  • Hands-on experience with the implementation of all deposit products on the core system; and experience with Verafin FRAML software.
  • Strong member/customer service skills to ensure the member’s experience is a positive one.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to create reports, processes, policies and procedures, SAR narratives, employee communications, 3rd party communications, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or finance; or the equivalent related experience.
